Building a Versatile Academic Portfolio

Throughout the duration of this course the student will become confident using a multitude of media ranging from pencils to watercolours and acrylics, enabling the student to develop and build a versatile coursework needed to sit for his/her A’ Level art studies and beyond. Classes are kept to a minimum, one to one tutoring is also accepted both in class and online.

History of Art

This course will aid the student in developing a critical approach to the analysis of works of art within their historical context. Using specific works of art as primary source, these classes will approach the study of art history reflectively and analytically. Furthermore, enhancing the knowledge of the student vastly while supplying an appropriate use of artistic terminology.The Programme of this course will be directly focused on achieving the respective knowledge requested by the Advanced level Syllabus (Paper 1 only). Class Presentations and student notes will be made available in class.

Paper I – 3 hours (30 marks)

History of art written examination paper divided into 2 sections:
Section i: Critical Comparative Essay (15 marks)
Section ii: Synoptic essay (15 marks)

  • WHAT’S INCLUDED: Hands on teaching, Individual Attention, Air-conditioned Classroom
  • REQUIREMENTS: A2 Drawing Book, Set of Pencils, Acrylic Paints, Flat & Round Brushes (different sizes), Other mediums, Wipes and Cloth to Wipe Brushes.
